Baseball Update
Riley's first game of the season is on Thursday at Confederation Park. It's just off the Whitemud past 111th street. It should really be interesting. The weather has been really crappy and he's only been to one practice, so I don't expect anything spectacular at the first game. But of course we'll be there to cheer him on loud and proud.

Baseball, Easter, and Such
I know it has been a while since I've updated the blog. I have mentioned it before on the blog that my time seems to be very limited these days. And judging from my e-mail and some comments from people, it takes me forever to write back. Today, in between housework, I have found some time to update everyone on what has been happening around here.
Riley's tryouts at baseball went very well. Even though he hasn't played the game, he is catching on quickly. We had two evenings where he did running, hitting, pitching, and catching. Running for Riley comes second nature. We just tell him that a bunch of girls are chasing him and he's gone. Hitting he didn't do too bad at. With practice he'll improve. As for pitching and catching, well not too good. Again with some practice he'll be fine. His games will start at the end of this month and go until the end of June. I have pictures, but I can't find my cord to upload them on the big computer and our laptop is out of commission until the new battery comes in. I'll get some up as soon as I can.
Easter this year was pretty low key. The kids scored and we spent most of the weekend soaking up rays and riding bikes. When the weather is good, you take advantage of it. And I've got the burn to show it. It's too bad it's going to snow tomorrow. Oh well, we should be thankful that we had such a beautiful weekend.
Bailey finally lost her front tooth. She looks pretty funny with one tooth missing. Hillbilly Bailey is what I call her. Her other one is loose too, but it looks like it will be a while before she loses that one.
Bella is going through something right now where she doesn't want to be away from me. It's like she thinks I'm not coming back. Which is strange because the other two never did that. She was suppose to go on a sleepover last Friday and she freaked right out. She has slept over at this place before and never had any problems. I hope she'll grow out of this soon. Other than that she's her usual self.
That's it. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I'll TRY to be more consistent and update a little bit more.

No Time
I'm not sure if I am wasting my time or there isn't enough time in the day. I have been so busy that I can't believe that we are in the middle of the month already. I guess that could be a good thing since Spring begins tomorrow and winter is now behind us. The kids are very excited that tomorrow is the first day of Spring. Bella thinks that when she wakes up in the morning the snow will be gone and flowers will be blooming. I hated to burst her bubble when I explained to her that we live in Alberta and the snow isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Poor thing was absolutely devastated. Oh well.
We have been spending lots of time at the pool and the kids are really coming far on their swimming. The deep end is the place to go. They get to jump off the end and swim to the ladder. The deep end is over six feet, so even Dwayne and I can't touch. I'll try and bring the camera next time to get some shots.
I guess that's it. The kids are on Spring Break in about a week. So hopefully I'll have more time to blog.

Quick Little Update
We have been in our new place now for a week and we are starting to get more and more settled everyday. It's nice to be in a place that is mold free and we seem to be breathing better too. The kids have taken the changes very well. The dogs not so much. They are still pretty nervous and not too sure of their new surroundings. I'm sure with time, they'll get use to everything.
Better run. I know this is short, but I'm looking around at things that need to get done. Hopefully by the end of this week things will be out of boxes and back to normal. There really isn't anything better to do right now since the weather here is so darn COLD.

The Big Move
After many family meetings we are going to be moving. We had been wanting to move for awhile and after discovering mold on the beams in the roof, our decision came a little quicker. There has been a leak coming from our upstairs bathroom fan and Dwayne decided to open it up and have a look. Grabbing the flashlight he looked in the fan and saw mold all through out the roof. We have dealt with mold before. When our windows were replaced we found mold under the windows. Mold was found in behind our shower wall when the bathroom was renovated. And just this past October mold was found in the kitchen when that was renovated. So we really shouldn't have been surprised when we found it in the beams. That would explain our little health problems like coughs, headaches, Riley's bleeding noses, etc. We always contributed this to Dwayne and I smoking. But we have been smoke free for 2 years now and I can't see why we would still be dealing with these symptoms. So as of February 28, we will be moving to our new home. We are still staying in the area and the kids will still be going to the same school. The only thing that has really changed is our walk to school has increased by ten minutes. The kids are super excited. They'll know some kids in the neighbourhood which is great. Also we have access to an Olympic size pool and a gym. Now the work begins. I have six and half years of crap in this house and I only have 29 more days.

Oh Boy
Riley came to me the other day with a joke. Thinking it would be a silly kid joke that I have probably heard before I appeased him and let him tell it. He told me that after every question he asked me I was to answer ketchup and liquor. Very hesitant and not remembering any kid joke that had ketchup and liquor in it I told him to go ahead. What do you eat for breakfast? Ketchup and liquor. What do you eat for lunch? Ketchup and liquor. What do you eat for dinner? Ketchup and liquor. (here comes the punch line) What do you do when you see a lady crossing the street?..... Hmmm. If you don't get it, think about it....Sooo... After I was able to close my jaw and erase the total shock off my face, I got him to tell his dad. Let's just say that when Dwayne was able to put himself back together, he sat down with Riley and explained to him that those types of jokes are not very nice and some people might be offended by them. I asked him where he heard that joke and he told me from some boys at school. I guess this is a sign that he is getting older and no matter how much you want your kids to live in the bubble you create for them, there are always outside forces that are slowly breaking through that bubble.
