I came home from a night out with some friends and I always go into the kid's rooms to kiss them goodnight. This was how I found Bella. She was sleeping at the wrong end of her bed.

Dwayne's 40th Birthday Party

Last night we celebrated a major milestone. Dwayne has officially left the 30's behind and enter a new decade and chapter in his life. We had some great friends and neighbours join us for the evening. Even Karim and Amanda were able to stop by.(sans Aveline who was at the Jud's for the night.)

Don't ask. This was even before he hit the Jack.The girls got into the act and posed for a pic.

What I've Been Doing With My Time

I needed to do something creative to pass the time this winter. Since the kids are always misplacing their hats, I decided to start crocheting. These are just a couple of hats that I came up with. The girls love them because they can pick out colours they want.

The First D

Riley earned his first D this week. I knew this day was coming, I just didn't think it would have been this early in his education. He's only in grade 4. And to top things off it wasn't Riley who told me about his D, it was his teacher. Ouch for him and a shock for me. He had an opportunity to redo the test today and he decided that he didn't want to. So looks like Monday the teacher, Riley, and I will be sitting down and having a little chat. He is so capable of bringing home B's. He just gets lazy about it and doesn't try hard. Well that's about to change. Ahh the joys of motherhood. Sometimes I wish he was 3 again. It seems the older they get, the harder things are.

Bella came up with a new word the other day. We were driving and I was snapping my gum. Bella said I must have been a Championese Gum Snapper when I was a kid because I'm so good at it. She was trying to say champion but kept messing up. I thought it was pretty cute.

A Funny Moment

Yesterday Dwayne started a new tattoo. I believe it is a mid-life crisis because he's turning 40 next month. My only request is that he leaves his neck and face alone. Other than that have a good time. Anyway... I was standing in the kitchen with mom and Dwayne made a comment to her. (I don't remember what it was.) She turns around and smacks Dwayne in the arm that was just worked on. Dwayne doubles over in pain. I'm laughing so hard that a tears were coming out of my eyes. It was a Depends moment. Now here's the good part. Bella comes into the kitchen and sees her dad in pain. He's holding his stomach and arm. Bella says to mom, "Did you kick him in the balls?" The room goes silent for just a second. Mom doesn't know what to say and she starts laughing. I'm on a different level of laughter now. To the point where I can't see and getting ready to pass out. Dwayne had to leave the room. Only Bella would come out with something like that. I wish I could have caught it on video, because it was one of those moments where you had to be there.

Side note. Thanks to Carol Ann who has new background on her blog. I was tired of the same templates they have available on Blogspot. So thanks to her new background, I changed mine up.

HAPPY 2010!!!!!

After a very long and sometimes turbulent year, it is very nice to put 2009 behind us. The Tanner's would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and all the best in this new decade. Love everyone!!!
